Laura Tashjian- Assistant Coach

Laura began skating at the age of 5. Over the past 10 years, she has been competitively skating in Freestyle and in Ice Dancing. Most recently, she was a competitive Junior Ice Dancer with her former partner. Laura was coached by the 2006 Olympic Bronze Medalists, Ruslan Goncharov and Elena Grushina, along with other World and National medalists. She is a double USFS Gold Medalist in Ice Dancing and in Moves In The Field, and has passed her Canadian Gold Dance Test, five International Dances, and her Intermediate Freestyle. Laura is also the three-time recipient of the WFS President's Award for Highest Achievement in Ice Dancing. Off the ice, she is a full-time student at the University of Rhode Island, studying to become a Physical Therapist and a Strength and Conditioning Trainer. Her favorite aspect of skating/coaching is choreographing programs- this is why she loves TOI! Laura truly loves this sport, and is excited to pass on her knowledge to other skaters.
